Duncan Pilgrim Joins Sequoia Communications as Director of Marketing
Sequoia Communications gains momentum in RF multi-mode market with key hire
San Diego – April 25, 2007 – Sequoia Communications, the fabless RF semiconductor company setting new benchmarks in multi-mode design and integration, today announced that Duncan Pilgrim has joined the company as director of marketing. Pilgrim brings more than 14 years of experience in the mobile communications market to Sequoia Communications. He has held both marketing and design engineering positions at industry-leading companies such as GEC Plessey Semiconductors, Mitel Semiconductors and most recently, RF Micro Devices (RFMD). Pilgrim joins Sequoia Communications as the company begins to gain strong momentum within the RF semiconductor market.
“Duncan’s industry experience and background will make him an extremely important part of the Sequoia team as we ramp up our product marketing efforts to support the rollout of our new multi-mode RF transceiver,” said Sequoia Communications’ CEO Dave Shepard. “It’s strong validation of Sequoia’s continued success to have a person of Duncan’s caliber relocate across the country to join this team.”
Pilgrim joins Sequoia Communications after eight years at RFMD. While at RFMD, he held positions as a RF IC design engineer, technical marketing manager and strategic marketing manager. As an integral part of the RFMD marketing team, Pilgrim was responsible for planning and implementing product marketing initiatives, supporting investor relations, and was crucial in defining the long term company vision and strategy. He started his career as an RF application engineer and was an RF IC design engineer at GEC Plessey Semiconductors (now Mitel Semiconductor) before joining RFMD as an RF IC design engineer.
“I see Sequoia Communications as a company that will drive RF technology advancement and lead the evolution of the multi-mode wireless communication market,” said Pilgrim. “I couldn’t be happier to join Sequoia at this stage in its development. It will be both challenging and exciting to bring Sequoia’s innovative technology to the developing multi-mode market and allow wireless device manufacturers to offer power-efficient products, with the lowest cost of ownership.”
